Community Christmas Tree Festival

Stroud Parish Church of St. Laurence, Gloucestershire

St Laurence Church situated in the Shambles, Stroud has hosted twelve very successful Community Christmas Tree Festivals, in December every year since 2005! We had 30 trees in our first year, and it has grown since then so that we are able to regularly have over 135 beautifully and thoughtfully decorated trees displayed by organisations, businesses, groups or individuals from across the local area. The event has become an enormous community occasion and it is great that so many want to take part.

The 13th St Laurence Church Community Christmas Tree Festival will be held between Sunday 26th November and Sunday 3rd December 2017.

The Festival Switch-on ceremony will be held on Sunday 26th November – more details about our special guest soon! The Festival will end with the Christmas Tree Festival Songs of Praise at 4:00 p.m on Sunday 3rd December 2017

We are keen to welcome as many local people to see the displays as possible. But all this has been made possible from the support of local people who take part in this amazing spectacle.

If you, either as an individual, group, organisation or business, would like to display a Christmas tree for the Festival the following information is given to assist you:

There is no charge for displaying a tree at the Festival.

You may use a real or artificial tree - preferably between 4' and 6' high (we can accommodate smaller or bigger trees!), decorated in any way you choose. (In the past, we have suggested that it might be a good opportunity to advertise your existence in the local community by using decorations appropriate to your organisation).

An electricity supply will be available for each tree, but we ask that flashing or musical lights are not used (or set on static/silent), as these may be distressing to some visitors.

The trees may be staged on Thursday 23rd November, Friday 24th November and Saturday 25th November (or early afternoon on Sunday 26th November, by prior arrangement only). The trees can be removed after the service on Sunday 3rd December or during the day on Monday 4th December 2017. Your space must be booked in advance - please see below!

There are no prizes for displaying a tree - it is impossible to do this as all the displays are brilliant!

Again, we will not be charging for admission to the Festival (except for the Lights Switch-on event), but will be asking visitors for donations towards our "Steps for the Furture Project".

In order to book space for the Festival or for further details, please contact us Mike or Toni Lambert on email link or email address

We would like all spaces requested by 1st November - however we may be able to accept bookings after this date depending on space available. We do produce a Festival programme containing all those who have brought a tree and we can't guarantee entry if the space is booked late!
