Stroud Parish Church
Community Christmas Tree Festival 2018
St Laurence Church situated in the Shambles, Stroud has hosted twelve very successful Community Christmas Tree Festivals, in December every year since 2005! We had 30 trees in our first year, and it has grown since then so that we are able to regularly have over 135 beautifully and thoughtfully decorated trees displayed by organisations, businesses, groups or individuals from across the local area. The event has become an enormous community occasion and it is great that so many want to take part.
As we are celebrating 150 year since the building of the present church we hope for that number of trees!!
The 14th St Laurence Church Community Christmas Tree Festival will be held between Sunday 2nd December and Sunday 9th December 2018.
The Festival Switch-on ceremony will be held on Sunday 2nd December at 4:00 p.m. with a special guest Kate Clark, BBC Radio Gloucestershire Presenter to switch on the lights. We are lucky to have Baily's Beards playing to us during the switch on event. The Festival will end with the Christmas Tree Festival Songs of Praise at 4:00 p.m on Sunday 9th December 2018.
Special for this year the Cotwold Players will be performing "It's A Wonderful Life" during the evenings on Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th and Saturday 8th December.
We are keen to welcome as many local people to see the displays as possible. But all this has been made possible from the support of local people who take part in this amazing spectacle.
If you, either as an individual, group, organisation or business, would like to display a Christmas tree for the Festival please do contact us!
